The full story of how a girl who lost her father at 15, survived a near-death health crisis, and rebuilt herself through grief, music, faith, and reinvention became one of the most sought-after voices for women in their second chapter.
From a near-death experience to global stages. From silence to song. From wallflower to the woman the room remembers.
At 15, I lost my father. Everything shifted in a single afternoon. The girl I had been — the quiet one in the back of the room, the one who watched and listened and saved her voice for later — became a young woman trying to find footing in a world that no longer made sense.
What followed was a decades-long journey through grief, reinvention, and reclamation. Addiction-filled environments. Emotional collapse. A trauma-shaped definition of what I thought success had to look like. And then, in midlife, a near-death health crisis that flatlined me — literally — and gave me a roadmap I now teach other women.
I've spent over three decades on stages of every kind: corporate boardrooms coaching C-suite and mid-level leaders. Stadium stages filled with thousands. Prison ministry. Women's ministry. International conferences. Global events. I've authored international bestselling books, hosted national TV, and recorded music that won awards.
And here's what almost nobody teaching "story" or "speaking" today can say: I've stood on both sides of the mic — booking the speakers, producing the shows, interviewing the rockstars. I learned the secret formula the long way, from inside the rooms that decide who gets the stage and who doesn't.
I grew up in a trauma-filled environment and watched incredible women silence their gifts. Not because they weren't capable — but because they didn't know how to use their voice. They had stories that could move rooms, and instead those stories sat in journals and group chats and the back of their throats for the rest of their lives.
That's why I do this work. Because no voice deserves to go unheard. And because there is, in fact, a method — a teachable, repeatable, soul-honoring method — for turning a story into a stage, a stage into a platform, and a platform into a legacy.
Today I host the Rise & Roar with the Badass Lioness podcast — now ranked in the top 5% of podcasts globally — and co-host the national TV show Rockstar Diaries – Healing Out Loud. I lead the B.A.D.D.A.S.S. Lioness movement, run Hearts In Sync Productions, coach high-achieving women through my Story-to-Stage methodology, and speak on stages from Microsoft to Verizon to global women's leadership summits.
Through my frameworks R.I.S.E. (the internal work) and R.O.A.R. (the external expression), I help women in their second chapter reclaim their voice, rise beyond burnout, communicate with authority, command rooms with presence instead of performance, and step boldly into the next chapter — courage, congruence, and heart intact.
